Our client, a mid size trucking and logistics company, is looking for a Controller to add to their growing team. They are a established company with annual revenue of over $25 million. They specialize in logistics and cross border transportation, offering services of courier and handling shipments to major cities of Ontario, Quebec, and the mid-western and southern region of the United States.


  • Prepare timely and complete financial statements monthly, quarterly, annually
  • Cash flow Management
  • Coordinate the preparation of the annual reports
  • Recommend and implement benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
  • Design and implement financial and operational metrics
  • Prepare analytics on budget variances and report significant issues to the management
  • Design and reporting system for cost variances and effects on bottom line
  • Provide financial feasibility as needed on investments, capital expenditures, pricing decisions and contract negotiations


  • Maintain and design accounting policies and procedures
  • Oversee, manage and control the operations of centralized / decentralized accounting department, including the design and implementation of structure and individual employees’ tasks
  • Design and implement competitive cost structure for each cost center
  • Oversee work of junior staff to ensure all clerical work is completed and carried out on a timely manner (AP/AR, invoicing, payroll, month end like accruals, adjusting entries, bank reconciliations, and other adhoc duties)


  • Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors
  • Comply with statutory, government and tax reporting systems

Desired Qualifications

  • 3+ years of progressive experience in trucking and freight industry
  • CPA, CA, CGA
