Working with many partners and stakeholders, they have a talented team equipped to developing homes ranging from townhouses to high rise buildings and custom estates.

We are looking for an Intermediate to Senior Accountant who can transition easily into the role and become part of a successful organization. This position is responsible for all accounting transactions and documentation using company approved procedures which must comply with IFRS and Canadian GAAP accounting principles and standards. We are looking for a hands-on, pro-active, accounting professional who can work in a fast-paced environment, will be invested in the growth of the company, someone interested in the professional development of their career. You will work closely with the Director of Finance in carrying out all related job functions. Requirements

  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements
  • Assist in the preparation of external audits at year end
  • Completing month-, quarter-and year-end closing procedures, which includes multi-entity consolidation, and preparing consolidated balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statements for multiple entities within the global group of companies
  • Forecasting reports, actual vs budget analysis, cost summaries and other reports as required
  • Inter-company transaction documentation, inter-company journal entries and reconciliation
  • Recommend and implement benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
  • Provide financial feasibility as needed on investments, capital expenditures, pricing decisions and contract negotiations
  • Generating supporting schedules and reconciliations to accompany the company’s consolidated financial statements
  • Acting as the company liaison for financial reporting and accounting issues with bankers, regulators, external auditors, and affiliate companies of the organization, etc

Qualifications

  • Experience using Newstart, Quickbooks, SAP, Simply Accounting preferred
  • CPA designation or enrollment in the CPA program
  • IFRS and Canadian GAAP experience
  • A solid 2+ years of professional or real estate industry experience preferred
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office tools Excel, Word, and Outlook
