Our client, a mid-size to large, leading independent audit, tax and advisory firm is currently in search of exceptional candidates to fill a Senior Accountant position focusing on audit and assurance services. It’s a established CA firm that originated out of Vancouver and, in recent years, expanded their services in Ontario. Across the nation, it's a 15-partner firm with 65 professional staff, offering a full spectrum of business services to the private and public market. They specialize in audit and accounting, tax, business valuations, litigation support, corporate finance, transfer pricing, information technology, insolvency and restructuring, while serving domestic and foreign corporate groups, professionals and not-for-profit organizations across a wide range of industries.

    What your days will look like:

  • Effectively and independently complete and supervise field assignments – primarily audits and reviews
  • Deliver completed files for review on a timely basis
  • Assist with the training and development of new staff
  • Taking primary responsibility and ownership of files by independently managing workflow and presenting complete work product to partners on a timely basis
  • Understanding client industries and recognizing key performance drivers, business trends, and emerging technical and industry developments
  • Monitoring engagement team’s progress against the plan and make adjustments, when necessary
  • Identifying and resolving accounting, audit and tax issues
  • Conducting timely performance reviews and providing performance feedback/training
  • Developing strong technical audit, accounting and tax skills
    How your time will be spent: compilations, reviews and audit files, personal and corporate tax, and training, mentoring and guiding junior staff.

    What will you bring to the table:

    • A CPA designation or close to obtaining it
    • 3 + years of progressive public accounting experience
    • Experience working with clients in a variety of industries including not-for profit
    • Experience managing and developing staff on multiple sizes and types of engagements
    • Proven technical skills in accounting and assurance
    • Analytical with strong attention to detail
    • Ability to mentor and support others
    • Fast-learner, capable to work in fast-paced environment
